About me
Hi, I'm Sara.
First-generation Latina. Spanish-English bilingual SLP. New Yorker. And someone who has been exactly where you are.
My story
I began my career working in Early Intervention before transitioning into the preschool setting. Today, I work as a school-based bilingual SLP and bilingual speech-language evaluator, supporting culturally and linguistically diverse students and their families across New York.
My path wasn't a straight line. I struggled through grad school, nearly didn't pass the Praxis, and questioned whether I was 'bilingual enough' more times than I can count. I share all of that — the messy, real parts — because I believe representation matters and that our lived experiences make us better clinicians.
One of my biggest passions is working with bilingual children and advocating for culturally responsive practices within the field of speech-language pathology. I share my experiences, resources, and everyday life as a bilingual SLP on Instagram at @abilingualslp.
